Welch Allyn OAE Hearing Screener
Research has shown that undetected hearing loss leads to delays in speech, language, cognitive and social-emotional development, negatively affecting academic performance and potential.
Despite most newborns having a normal hearing screen at birth, some hearing deficits can still become evident and develop over the early stages of life. Prompt diagnosis is critical in these cases.
OAE screening is ideal for testing babies, infants, and children of all ages as it does NOT require their cooperation or understanding of the test.
We can now diagnose problems in children from newborn to later years. If a problem is detected, the child can then be properly taken care of by an audiologist or ENT specialist.
